It’s Wednesday and under my plan to expose more of my personal project to you all I wanted to share my inspiration of my logo. Under this week’s theme of Da Vinci’s Demons I wanted to expose my favorite Artista’s influence.
In 2007 after a year of working as a Graphic Designer for a local publication I would find myself drawing sketches. I’ve always found a level of joy placing a pen or pencil to paper and just letting my thoughts race. In this action I wanted to take my Initials and convert them into a logo. This task wasn’t easy at first, I mean how do you turn yourself into a brand?
This was the thought that plagued me for a few weeks better designs of car dealerships and supermarket ads. As I drew more and more the thoughts of creating an idenity began to emerge.
Eventually one drawing stood out. The combination of my initials of the “W” & the “I” combined created this fantastic figure. As I looked more and more into it I realized that the figure looked much like Leonardo’s Vitruvian Man illustration. The ends of each letter appeared as limbs of the body. The circle encloses all the movement of the body without losing purpose.
When I realized this I knew this was my logo. Taking influence and inspiration from Leonardo’s lifestyle into my own work as a digital artist. Everyday since has been a struggle to be that kind of man who could create but also inspire others.
With the venture of Web Development, Branding and Motion Graphics I have begun my adventure. There are a few regrets along the way but as you can see this year has placed Wizastudios in the right direction.
